Celebrity Style Star: Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger is my next celebrity style start that I have to comment on. She really is great, in my eyes. I guess I like this "boho-chic" look that stars have, which she does too, but she doesn't do it quite like the Olsens. She's like boho super-chic whereas they are like boho hobo-chic. I love both styles don't get me wrong I'm just saying they're similar, yet different.

Even though she has been in some questions movies (the National Treasure franchise), she has also been in some good ones (Inglourious Basterds, Troy, ok Troy wasn't great but it was a lot better than those Nicolas Cage movies).

She always looks great when she hows up to red carpet events, despite that disgusting pink Christian Lacroix dress she wore to the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Remember she made it up with the Chanel number she wore to the Oscars. I think Chanel's light airy feel is better for her than a whole smathering of pink.

Whatever, I love her.

Another Model I Love

Abbey Lee Kershaw is another model I love, pretty much tied for #1 with Lara Stone. She has everything that I love: a mane of long, tangled hair, a gap in between her two front teeth and of course, an Australian accent.

She was born June 12, 1987 so she's 22 (at the time of this post, obviously she will be 23 in two days), and those are 22 years of beauty.

Abbey Lee has been in some of my favorite ad campaigns, including Gucci and the new Calvin Klein ads with Lara Stone (yippee!). She has also been on the covers of some great magazines, for example Dazed & Confused (pictured above), in which she was in a Where the Wild Things Are inspired editorial, so cute. She has also been on V, Numero, Muse (the issue with Lindsay Lohan had a double cover, the other one had Abbey Lee but clearly I had to get the Lindsay one) and a variety of Vogue Covers (not pictured).

Some of the editorials she has been in have been my favorite ever, including the one above that there are two pictures from out of i-D Magazine, entitled "Abbey Lee Kershaw: The Space Cadet" (Spring 2010).

Overall I just gotta say, she's great.

Celebrity Style Stars: The Olsen Twins

So I love celebrities who are "style stars", as they say. I wholeheartedly agree with what they said in The September Issue, that Anna Wintour created celebrities who wanted to be super models, and I think along with that idea goes with celebs who are more interested in fashion.
The Olsens are the perfect example of fashion obsessed celebs, and I can't blame them. I love their "boho-chic" look, as you may begin to find that is pretty much my favorite style. If I were a stylist that's how all the women I dressed would be, it would honestly get a little bit boring probably. Oh also, up yours PETA, I love all the fur they wear. Another September Issue reference, Ms. Wintour believes their is always a way to wear fur, she "had it on [her] back"!
I love all the super high shoes they wear, for example Mary-Kate's love for her Balenciaga Harness Boots (pictured in a previour post). It's adorable how they are tiny and then wear these giant shoes, I absolutely love them.
They were born June 13, 1986 (so at the time of this post they are 23 but they will be 24 in about 11 days)! I happen to love 13th babies, my bday is November 13th so that's why, not everyone can have their bday on Friday the 13th!
Though I heard that they say they have little to do with some of their lines, such as Elizabeth & James (named for their siblings), I am happy that they at least do work with their higher end line The Row. I mean they already have a billion dollars, or at least a billion dollar company, they should do what they enjoy which is obviously fashion.
No matter what people say, they got it goin' on. So don't judge because I love them.

Anything Alexander McQueen (R.I.P)

So I think that Alexander McQueen is one of the most tragic losses in the fashion industry.
Lee Alexander McQueen was born March 17th, 1969 and as everyone knows he committed suicide on February 11th, 2010.

He had quite an interesting career, in my opinion. His first major accomplishment was an, apparently controversial, stint at Givenchy (current designer: Ricardo Tisci) from 1996, up until March of 2001. Apparently while there he did this runway show in which there were "car-robots" that spray painted cotton dresses as they went down the runway, which I find quite intricate.

McQueen's penultimate collection "Plato's Atlantis" is my favorite, and the top and bottom pictures (NOT the one with Janet Jackson who is wearing a dress, by the way, that I hate THOUGH it is McQueen), are examples from that collection. The shoes are called "Armadillos", and I love them. I think that they are perfect and, if done right, very wearable...well really only to events. Apparently he got ideas for this line because he was an "accomplished scuba-diver", according to wikipedia anyway.

Celebrities I have seen wearing his collection: Kristen Stewart, Salma Hayek, Anna Paquin, Drew Barrymore, Lady Gaga, Bjork, Kate Moss and so, so many more.

He really is someone who will be missed. I wonder what is going to happen to his comapny. Are they going to appoint a new designer? Or is it going to be like Margiela where there is a sort of group of designers, or whatever it is that they do.

Anyway, that's all for that. I love(d) McQueen, and if they do pick someone new I hope that they are really good.

Insanely High Shoes

So another thing I like about fashion is: insanely high heels.
While I'm a guy, and I would never wear heels, I think that they are awesome. If I could style a woman she would probably have horrible bunions from the shoes I would make her wear, but I still think they are necessary.
Where would Mary-Kate Olsen be without the Balenciaga Harness Boot (pictured above) ? And where would they be without the Yves Saint Laurent tribtoo pump (the picture all the way on the bottom, and what Ashley is wearing in the picture of the two)?
I think that they make women seem more powerful in a way. I'm not sure if that is really the right way to describe it, but I really think that they are a must have in a woman's wardrobe.
DSquared also makes a pretty awesome platform shoe, but they are quite crazy so I didn't put one up, they almost verge on tranny stripper. I mean I love them, but it's a fine line.

Lara Stone

Lara Stone is one of my favorite models, and here's why:

-She's Dutch, which I think is pretty cool because when I went to Amsterdam, everyone seemed really happy. She was born in Geldrop, The Netherlands.

-She's got tig ol' bitties. I read in Love Magazine, pictured above, that her boobs are size 32F, which is quite huge.

-She has been in quite a bunch of my favorite magazines: i-D (pictured above, "The God's Gift" issue #293, 2008) and "The Flesh and Blood Issue", not pictured but I love it. She was also on the cover of Love Magazine (above), V Magazine #55, W Magazine back in 2009, the March 2010 cover of Interview Magazine and many more.

-She is #1 on www.models.com, which is quite awesome. For the longest time the #1 was Raquel Zimmermann, who is another model I love, but they changed it to Lara recently and Raquel was moved to the icons list.

-She's been in some pretty awesome ads, including the current Louis Vuitton ones, as well as the current H&M ads and of course many more.

-She's got gapped teeth and some of my other favorite models (Abbey Lee Kershaw and Georgia Jagger, for example) are rockin' the gap, I love it.

There are many other reasons that I love the Stone. For one thing I have watched interviews with her and she has a cute, awkward little accent/personality. She's adorable. I think that she is different looking enough, without just being repulsive, for example: Jamie Bochert and Iekeliene Stange who both remind me of Voldemort. Sorry to both of them I mean they're doing what they do but I personally feel like both of them are so insanely strange looking. So all in all, that is what I have to talk about right now: Lara Stone, one of my favorite things about fashion.
